Julie Bartolo has been recognised by our Food Service Reform team for her hard work and dedication to patient care. After a visit to Macquarie Hospital to see food services in action, the team were blown away by the way she went about her work.
“Julie genuinely cared about the role she was playing in providing care to the consumers in her units,” said Amitha Mather, Food Service Reform Manager.
“She is hard working, with a friendly, can-do attitude, and this created a positive environment for consumers.”
The importance of recognition
Macquarie Hospital Site Supervisor Nicole Sharpe presented Julie with her Recognition in the Moment certificate, and said Julie was thrilled to receive it.
“I am very proud to have her as a member of our staff,” said Nicole.
Recognising the work of our Food Services staff is so important, because every Food Services team member plays an important role in the care of patients and consumers. Aside from Julie’s time management and organisational skills, the real stand out was her devotion to her work.
“Julie’s main focus was to attend to the needs of consumers, and the trust and connection she had with them was clear to see,” said Yvonne Lukic, People and Operations Lead, Food Service Reform.
Food Service Reform is all about enhancing food services for patients, and Julie’s work encapsulates that goal.
“By taking pride in what they do each day, our food services staff can have a really positive impact on the recovery of patients,” said Amitha. “That’s our goal for everything we do in food services.”
