International Cleaners Day, on Wednesday 15 June, is a special opportunity to recognise the incredible efforts of over 1,300 cleaners working for HealthShare NSW, who clean over 7,800 beds.

“They do such an amazing job behind the scenes keeping our hospitals safe and clean,” said Zdenka Fuller, Associate Director Food and Patient Support Services.

“Our cleaners are part of the backbone of our hospitals. We couldn’t do it without them and we are so lucky to have such a dedicated and hard-working group of workers in our Patient Support Services,” said Zdenka.

“Our cleaners provide an essential service to NSW Health and they are often the unsung heroes of our system. In the midst of the COVID-9 pandemic, our cleaners continued to show up on the frontline every day,” said Jennifer Van Cleef, Executive Director of Clinical Support Services.

“Our teams were so quick to adapt to the increased cleaning and hygiene standards that were needed to stop the spread of COVID-19 and to keep us all safe. These efforts are something that should not be underestimated and on International Cleaners Day, and every day, we thank you for your hard work,” said Jennifer.
