Focus on people

Last week, we officially launched our new Disability Employment Strategy (PDF) 2023-2025.

This Strategy builds on the work from our previous Disability Employment Strategy which saw our representation of HealthShare NSW employees with disability grow from 1.9% in 2015 to a current 8.2%.

‘Employees with disability in jobs that match their knowledge, capabilities and interests bring a range of ideas, skills and perspectives to the workplace – improving productivity and enriching workplace culture,’ said Paul Gavel, Director of People and Culture.

‘Since 2015, we have made good progress in our commitment to people with disability. We increased our resources to focus on the recruitment of people with a disability and to offer appropriate support, where needed, to our current disability workforce.

‘We are committed to increasing representation of people with disability in our workforce and creating an inclusive, accessible, safe and welcoming organisation for people with disability.’

Our 2023-2025 Strategy is focused on three key areas:

  • increasing disability representation across our workforce to 10% by 2025
  • ensuring all staff have safe, equitable and dignified access to all aspects of their workplace;
  • continuing to build an inclusive workplace culture which values and respects people with disability.Find out more about our disability inclusion journey:
