Concord team recognised for outstanding service

Congratulations to our Food and Patient Support Services team at Concord Hospital who have received recognition from patients, clinicians and the Local Health District for their hard work and commitment to providing a great experience for our patients and customers.

Recognition from clinicians

Sina Lolomana’ia, Nursing Unit Manager of the Concord Centre for Mental Health, wrote to Site Manager Tejinder Kaur to pass along a heartfelt thank you to team member Gagandeep Kaur for her exceptional service and bright, can-do attitude.

“She has been excellent in her duties, engages well with clients and staff and is proactively friendly and approachable, particularly with our more vulnerable clients,” Sina said.

“She manages her time well and our food is always cooked well whenever she is here.”

Food Service Supervisor Nay Min spoke with pride of her staff members and said it was a fantastic achievement for the team.

Messages of thanks from patients

The dedication of the Concord team has also been acknowledged by patients, as two patients wrote to express their appreciation and gratitude to the Food Services team after enjoying their meals.

“I wanted to say thank you for bringing a fantastic meal to restaurant 6 – table 8 tonight!  
The patient continued, “Thanks is such a basic word for everything all the food service staff have done for me, but I can’t think of another word, so it’s thanks from me to you.”

Another patient shared a similar sentiment:

“Thank you to all the staff that were involved in bringing food to all the patients. I am especially grateful to all of you! Breakfast in bed, lunch to my bedside and an evening meal to my room. You spoil me! Again, my genuine ‘thanks’. You all work so hard and everything is delicious. You are amazing”.

Acknowledgement from the LHD

The recent Food Services audit results have continued to reflect the amazing efforts of Concord Food Services after the team received an A rating, considered an excellent result.

Site Manager Tejinder expressed her delight with the results and said it speaks to the great sense of pride and passion she feels in her work with the team.

Sydney Local Health District also took the opportunity to highlight the results.

Grace Scott, Director of Corporate and Clinical Support congratulated the team on behalf of Concord General Hospital and said it was an unsurprising result given the work of the team.

“Thank you so much for all of the work you and your team do to ensure you are providing high quality food and food services to our patients.”

Patient Services and Planning Executive Director Jennifer Van Cleef expressed her pride in the Concord team.

“I give full credit to the leadership at the site and the support of the team,” said Jen.

“It is wonderful to have these efforts acknowledged by others.”
