National Food Service Employee Day, on 25 September, marks a special opportunity to recognise and celebrate the invaluable work that is carried out by our Food Service teams across the state.

Our Food Services staff play an integral role in the patient experience and upholding the standards of care within the healthcare system. For patients, receiving a nourishing meal can often provide a source of comfort and support during their hospital stay.

HealthShare NSW has over 4000 food service staff working diligently across 152 sites to ensure that patients receive high quality, nutritional meals. They contribute an essential service to NSW Health, providing around 24 million meals each year for patients.

"The health system relies heavily on the work our Food Service staff do, and your efforts are nothing short of exceptional. You should be so proud of what you do – we can’t thank you enough,” said Joel, Associate Director Service Delivery.

Our Food Services staff, including our Food Production Unit staff, have an immense impact on patient care and the health system. To each and every member of our Food Service teams, we say a heartfelt thank you, and Happy Food Service Employee Day.
