Making a difference through kindness

Through connection, compassion and support, Evan Hall is helping make HealthShare NSW a better place to work.
We are pleased to announce that Evan Hall, WHS Governance Safety Management System Specialist, is HealthShare NSW’s latest Emblem of Kindness recipient.
The Emblem of Kindness recognises and celebrates NSW Health staff who demonstrate thoughtful acts of kindness that have a lasting impact on individuals and teams across the organisation.
Evan was recognised for his genuine commitment to going above and beyond to support colleagues, build meaningful connections, and foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture. This is evident in the many team activities he organises each year, including Clean Up Australia Day, R U OK? Day and Movember, as well as baking competitions and sports-themed events.
Evan is also a trained Mental Health First Aider at HealthShare NSW, providing one-on-one peer support to staff and offering a safe space to discuss their concerns. His compassionate nature means he listens without judgement, provides reassurance when needed, and helps people feel valued and supported.
Bronwen West, Manager WHS Governance, said Evan is a trusted colleague who champions staff health, wellbeing and psychological safety.
‘Evan is someone who genuinely makes HealthShare NSW a better place to work,’ said Bronwen.
‘He is always looking for ways to bring people together, whether it's leading mindfulness sessions, promoting wellbeing initiatives, recruiting for blood donation drives, or organising social gatherings.
‘These may seem like small gestures, but they strengthen team connection, foster a positive culture, and remind us of the importance of looking after one another. Evan embodies the values of kindness, inclusion and community every day,’ she said.
Kindness is one of the guiding principles of HealthShare NSW's Strategic Plan 2025-30, helping to build a stronger, more positive workplace culture and supporting the health and wellbeing of our people.
Across the organisation, our people demonstrate kindness every day. That's why it's important to celebrate these acts and acknowledge those who make a positive difference to the people around them.
