The centre, which can deliver up to 30,000 vaccines each week (subject to vaccine supply and availability) is providing much needed capacity to the NSW COVID-19 vaccination program.

Central to the successful standup of the Vaccination Centre, is the work of the Procurement and Supply Chain Vaccination team. The team has worked closely with colleagues from Sydney Local Health District and the State Health Emergency Operations Centre to support a seamless vaccination process for both frontline staff working at the centre and members of the public receiving their vaccinations.

“The vaccination team has been instrumental in getting the Sydney Olympic Park Vaccination Centre off the ground. They have managed ordering, storing and distribution of all the medical consumables required as part of the vaccination rollout,” said Executive Director, Procurement and Supply Chain Operations, Alex Araujo.

“This has included everything from forecasting and sourcing the equipment required to administer both types of vaccinations, to onboarding frontline staff with their uniforms. It’s been a real team effort and another great example of how HealthShare NSW is supporting our frontline colleagues and partnering for patients.”
