EnableNSW has expanded its Equipment Allocation Program to Murrumbidgee.

People living in the Murrumbidgee Local Health District will now have faster access to a range of readily available mobility and self-care equipment options including beds, mattresses, bathing and toileting aids, transfer aids, slings, cushions, manual wheelchairs and walkers.

The Equipment Allocation Program provides prescribers with an easier way of seeing and requesting equipment via an online catalogue. Prescribers can simply browse, view and select the most clinically appropriate equipment, attach a simplified Stock Equipment Request Form and proceed through the site’s checkout eliminating the need for manual paperwork and speeding up process times.

Equipment may be new or refurbished to like new condition for children or adults and is suitable for all levels of need.

“The program provides faster access to a range of great value, readily available equipment,” explained Blythe Aylward, Project Manager, EnableNSW.

In addition to Murrumbidgee, the Program is available in

  • Metropolitan Local Health Districts (LHD)
  • Illawarra Shoalhaven LHD
  • Central Coast LHD
  • Nepean Blue Mountains LHD
  • Lower Hunter Local Government Areas including Lake Macquarie, Newcastle, Maitland and Cessnock.

“We’re reviewing the feedback from Murrumbidgee to see how we can broaden access to this program for people living in rural areas. This includes assessing how many items are requested, how we regularly transport equipment to the requested rural locations and monitoring turnaround times,” said Blythe.
