At HealthShare NSW, our vision is to connect with and understand the needs of our people, patients, NSW Health staff and the community. We know that a positive workplace culture helps our people work best and delivers better outcomes for our customers.

Each day we’re growing a positive and constructive culture that helps our people do their best work. We call this ‘blue’ culture, which is built on achievement, innovation, collaboration and valuing our people and their safety.

Workplace culture is simply known as ‘the way we do things around here.' A blue culture means we put people first. We strive to connect with those around us and inspire a common purpose to deliver the best for our customers.

Blue culture means:

  • We work to challenging but realistic goals and achieve these goals
  • We are developed and coached to grow
  • We engage in constructive conversations
  • Our people enjoy their work, develop themselves and take on new and interesting activities

Our CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment underpin everything we do, from the products and services we offer to the way we interact and support patients and staff.

Our initiatives

At HealthShare NSW we have a number of people-focused initiatives underway. Some examples include:

  • Structured and supportive onboarding program for new starters
  • Leadership development programs and workshops
  • Formal and informal reward and recognition programs
  • Informal catch-ups and formal performance appraisal processes with opportunities for individualised development plans as well as formal and on-the-job training and development
  • Talent pools and succession programs to support internal mobility and career growth
  • Regular culture, wellbeing and engagement surveys
